A flat roof is more pitched subject to the negative effects of precipitation (rain, melt water). The only solution in this situation was the use of an internal drainage system. Description and scope
Structurally, the element of the drainage system is a hollow pipe segment 160 or 450 mm long, equipped with an upper receiver. In addition, the funnel is equipped with a grid that protects the drainage system from the entry of debris (leaves, branches, etc.). For easier and more convenient installation, the water intake elements are equipped with a crimp flange. A special heating system prevents freezing of water in the pipes and funnel in winter.
A funnel is used for TechnoNicol internal gutters exclusively on a flat roof. Models with heating are designed for installation on the roofs of cold, insulated buildings. Without exception, all flat funnels contribute to the collection and removal of rain / snow water from the roof into the internal drainage pipes.

Funnel TechnoNicol WB 110
The model is made from a copolymer of propylene and ethylene. Durable, resistant to aggressive environments and temperature differences material can last up to 25 years. The funnel WB 110, like all other models, is equipped with a clickable leaf catcher.

A funnel with a crimp steel flange or without it is installed on the roof at the rate of 1 cm2 of the element cross-sectional area for every 0.75 m2 of roof area.
Funnel with crimp flange and heating (VFO)
It has characteristics similar to previous models: height, diameter, throughput. The crimp flange is also made of stainless steel. Product color - black. For more reliable operation of the system, preventing its freezing at sub-zero temperatures, the element is understaffed with electric heating. It is connected to the building’s power system.
Installation Steps
When installing funnels on the roof, you should adhere to the rules and recommendations established by SNiP 06-2009 (revision of SP 118.13330.2012):
- the distance from the funnel to the nearest parapet / wall is at least 50 cm;
- at least two water intake elements must be placed on the roof with the enclosing structure;
- funnels are mounted in the smallest places;
- Before installing the products, it is necessary to first divide the roof into rhombs and correctly lay the insulation, rolled roofing material with a slope towards their center.
The rest of the installation of funnels is performed as follows:
- After carrying out roofing, the lower part of the intake element is joined to the drainpipe. Fasteners should not be made very rigid so that during thermal expansions the material does not deform.
- Lay the o-ring over the waterproofing material.
- Mount the top of the funnel. It is located on top of the waterproofing. Additionally, the upper part is fixed with bitumen mastic.
- At the end of installation work, a protective grill should be installed.
The flat roof drainage system must be regularly inspected for functioning and lack of debris. A sudden rainfall can lead to a collapse of the roof if communication is malfunctioning.
Check the correct installation of funnels by spilling a pair of buckets of water two to three meters from the mounted elements. If the fluid leaves quickly and freely, the work is done correctly.
