Is it possible to install air conditioning on a glazed loggia?
There is no place for an air conditioner on a glazed loggia: during operation, the external air conditioning unit generates a lot of heat. It should freely go into the atmosphere. Otherwise, the compressor will burn out (this is the case with cheaper models) or will stop (the more expensive ones will automatically shut off when the air temperature reaches +40 degrees).
Therefore, when deciding to install air conditioning on the loggia, it is necessary to provide good ventilation.
Place for installation of air conditioning on the loggia
There are several options for placing an external air conditioning unit on the loggia:
- On the front wall of the loggia outside. This is a good option, which, however, increases the cost of installing an air conditioner on the loggia by increasing the length of the piping and cables;
- The air conditioning on the loggia inside is usually installed on the side wall and only if the room is well ventilated;
- When the loggia is in two rooms, the external air conditioning unit on the glazed loggia is mounted on the edge so that communications do not cross the middle of the loggia. Such installation is more expensive than usual;
- Installation of the outdoor air conditioning module on the external wall of the house inside the loggia. It is most convenient to hang the air conditioning on the loggias on the wall between the window openings or directly under the window.
When installing the outdoor unit of the air conditioner on the loggia, you should take care of the long drainage pipe to drain the condensate.
Air conditioning on the loggia
The scorching rays of the sun heat the room of the loggia to a temperature of +50 degrees.
But many owners here equip playrooms for children, classrooms or rest corners. To cool the hot space, a split system is installed.
It makes no sense to mount the indoor unit of the air conditioner in a room adjacent to the loggia. The room will have a glacier, but the loggia is still hot. Therefore, you need to install air conditioning on the loggia. For this room, as a rule, inexpensive models with the lowest power are purchased. After all, the area of loggias is usually small.
