Purpose and composition of the low-temperature kit
External impeller electronic speed controller. Mounted in an external module, serves to gradually reduce the fan speed with decreasing temperature. It prevents icing of the blades at low operating temperatures of the air conditioner. The controller is equipped with a temperature sensor for the air conditioner, it is he who triggers a change in the speed of rotation;- Warm-up of the external module housing. It is an electric wire. Heated at a voltage of 60 watts, it raises the temperature of the oil in the crankcase, preventing it from thickening. Starting at low temperatures the air conditioner is called “cold”; it threatens the compressor;
- Heated drainage system. Mounted in a condensate drain system. Prevents the formation of ice;
- Thermostat. Also equipped with a temperature sensor for the air conditioner. It turns on (depending on the model) at -30 degrees and turns off at +30 degrees. The air temperature from the air conditioner remains set by the user.
Types of Low Temperature Kits
Some users install immediately an air conditioner with a low temperature kit. And you can understaff already installed air conditioning. The minimum operating temperature will change to -20, and sometimes to -25 degrees.
On sale there are universal kits suitable for almost all types of household and semi-industrial climatic equipment.
For example, an electric compressor heater can be purchased in a special design that adapts to any model. The heater is used to heat the oil in the compressor. This is the most important unit of the winter kit. It contains a temperature sensor that can withstand a range of operating temperatures. The heater at the same time prolongs the life of the compressor and reduces power consumption, without affecting the temperature of the air from the air conditioner.
There are branded kits created by manufacturers only for their models. The second option will cost much more.
