Ceiling air conditioners are not as common as wall split systems. But in vain, because they work no less efficiently, completely without changing the design of the room. This is a convenient option when the walls are finished with expensive and exclusive materials or you need to install air conditioning near a glass display case.
What is a ceiling air conditioner?
The indoor module of the ceiling air conditioner is mounted directly on the ceiling. It is a compact device of small height (better than the model 15 cm) and light weight. Leading manufacturers are constantly working to reduce the weight of their structures. Air flow is blown out of the front panel through an adjustable louvre system. The indoor units of many models can also be mounted on the floor in an upright position.
The outdoor unit is similar to that of a conventional split system. It is installed outside the window.
The path between the outdoor and indoor units runs along the ceiling. Most often, it is hidden under decorative elements or in strobes. Sometimes the internal module is located on the ceiling directly near the external wall to reduce the length of the track (see the attachment for a photo of a ceiling air conditioner of such an installation).
Features of ceiling air conditioners
Ceiling-type air conditioners are produced not only by expensive manufacturers: Panasonic, Daikin, Toshiba, MitsubishiHeavy, General, but also by companies creating economy-class equipment: for example, LG. This is a high power technique. Although some manufacturers create models with power from 2.5 kilowatts, as a rule, ceiling models are designed for medium and large rooms (from 50 to 140 sq. Meters).
Ceiling type air conditioners can be 1, 2, 3 or four-flow. The model is selected depending on the size of the room.
Since air conditioners of this type are among the most modern developments, they are all controlled by inverters.
Manufacturers equip their models with an infrared remote control or a wall-mounted wired remote (sometimes at the buyer's option). You can control several units at the same time during the installation of multisplit systems.
See photos of ceiling air conditioners in the appendix. All of them work in cooling and heating modes.
Some are equipped with additional options:
- defrosting;
- autorun;
- self-diagnosis;
- drainage of air;
- auto mode;
- "sleep".
There are models that provide a mix of fresh air in the amount of 10%.
