Air conditioners with two indoor units and one external

The multisplit system for 2 rooms with one outdoor unit is an inverter technology, characterized by high productivity. The device works silently and provides a 10 year warranty.

Types of multisplit systems

Additional blocks can be of different shapes and sizes.

The multisplit system differs in the method of connecting devices: up to 16 indoor units of different capacities can be connected to one external node at once. This allows you to simultaneously cool or heat the air in different rooms, depending on their independent purpose.

There are two categories of multisplit systems: fixed and typesetting.

Stationary MSS include one outdoor unit and several indoor units. The number of connection sockets on the external device is equal to the number of internal. The outdoor unit of the multi-split system for 2 rooms is equipped with one or two compressors. In the latter case, indoor modules can be switched on to heat and cold at the same time, since they have different circuits. If the systems have one compressor, the modules inside operate in a single mode. Each of them is presented with a remote control (DU), the same for all devices.

The cantilever unit is mounted against a wall on the floor or under the ceiling

Types of multi-split systemsconsist of one external module and several internal blocks. They are connected by separators. It is possible to install three compressors in an external unit involved in one circuit. All internal modules operate in a specific mode: “cold”, “heat” or “drying”. Internal modules are connected under the condition that their total power does not exceed the performance of an external device.

Types of indoor units:

  • wall mounted;
  • cassette
  • floor and ceiling;
  • cantilever.

All multisplits are equipped with remotes, each of them is configured when setting up equipment. The first DP system has a privileged right and can control the entire system, creating a common task for internal modules. For example, if the “cold” mode is created on one block, it will automatically be distributed to other modules.

Advantages and disadvantages

Multisplit systems for 3 rooms are actively used to create the desired temperature in rooms of various sizes. They can be used for heating rooms and for cooling, depending on the street temperature.

Compared to conventional air conditioners, split-systems for 3 rooms have the following advantages:

  1. Power of an external device. At MCC, modules with increased productivity are installed, allowing for air exchange in large rooms.
  2. Silent work. This is achieved due to the remote compressor, which is quite noisy.
  3. Big choice. Modules differ from simple air conditioners in appearance, shape, size, fastening (ceiling, wall, floor).
  4. Installation of one external unit. When there is no place for mounting several devices on the facade of the building, the use of a multi split system is justified.

The disadvantages of the device:

  • Complex installation of modules. For the equipment of the channel complex, it is necessary to carry out connecting the outdoor appliance and indoor communication nodes, as well as air ducts.
  • Installation of a split system with two indoor units can only be permanent. It is impossible to move and rearrange them to another place. It is possible to dismantle such equipment, but it should be done by specialists.
  • If the outdoor unit breaks down, all rooms are left without air conditioning.

System Options

Multisplit system external unit

The MCC includes:

  1. External unit.Installed on the outside of the building.
  2. Communication distributors: electric mains, air ducts, pipes with freon inside, combining outdoor and indoor modules in a single complex.
  3. Room modules.

Basically, an air conditioner for 2 rooms with one outdoor unit is equipped with inverter compressors and is combined with indoor modules of different type and performance. All internal nodes, as well as their categories or a separate block, can work synchronously.

The use of an inverter modification of the multisplit system air conditioner significantly saves electricity, since the capacity of the outdoor module is regulated depending on the load.

Power selection

When calculating the performance of a multisplit system, several factors must be taken into account:

  1. Rooms in which a multi split system will be installed: area, purpose of the room, heating system.
  2. Power of indoor units. We must not allow their total performance to exceed the power of the external module. To calculate this indicator there are online services.
  3. Pipeline length. The higher this indicator, the more powerful the blocks in remote rooms should be.

Among the low-cost multisplit air conditioners, manufacturers can be distinguished: LG, General Climate, Midea. Sets of multisplit systems for 4 rooms are already distributed by power. Eight rooms with a total area of up to 200 square meters can be cooled from one outdoor module. m

When choosing a multi-split system, the placement of the modules should be taken into account: on the floor, wall or ceiling.

Installation methods for MCC

Twin Split System

Installation of a multi-split system in 4 rooms is carried out in two ways: “slim” and “twin”.

“Slim” provides for the connection of all internal modules into a single circuit, and it, in turn, is connected to one port of the external device. It turns out a common network, while creating independent internal modules that are included from individual remotes.

“Twin” involves connecting each indoor unit with a separate trunk to a specific port.

The total length of all pipelines can be up to 55 meters, and up to the internal module - 15 meters.

Installation of a multi-split system

The outdoor unit is always placed on the outside of the house: on the wall or roof, sometimes in common passages or corridors. Each room has a separate module.

Between the indoor units lay pipelines with refrigerant, as well as cables for power and control. The compressor, condenser, fan and accessories are installed in the outdoor module.

The installation process includes:

  • fixation of the outdoor unit;
  • electrical wiring;
  • communication preparation;
  • pipe installation;
  • cable installation;
  • filling the highway with freon;
  • checking the split system for leaks.

When installing the external and internal modules, choose a place so that when drilling holes do not get into the valve. To do this, it is recommended to use a metal detector. If you plan to install the air conditioner on the roof, you need to calculate the allowable load on the roof.

The obvious advantage of the MCC is the presence of only one outdoor unit, this is especially significant when there is no space for several models. A competent installation will ensure the efficiency and durability of the device and create the optimal microclimate in the room.
