Comparison of heating systems: gas, water, electricity
Private heating of a cottage or apartment is the best option to create the best conditions for living. The big advantage of this type of heating is the ability to control both the microclimate and costs, being completely independent of the work of public utilities.
Types of private heating systems:
- water;
- gas;
- electric.
Gas heating
This is the most popular method of heating apartments and cottages. The gas heating system includes:
- a boiler (or other heating device);
- gas pipeline;
- coolant circuit (water is used as a coolant);
- heating radiators;
- shut-off and control valves;
- devices that control the operation of the system.
Gas boilers for heating are produced of low power (4 - 60 kW), medium - (up to 1600 kW), large - (up to 16000 kW).
The equipment is mounted on a wall or mounted on the floor. Mounted boilers are equipped with lightweight copper heat exchangers, and floor - cast iron. Boilers are flow-through or with a built-in boiler. The service life of the boiler is 20 - 65 years. An automatic control system makes the gas heating system completely safe.
Gas private heating is characterized by high efficiency and great comfort.
Electric heating
Sources of heat in the heating circuit:
- boilers combined with a water heating circuit and radiators;
- electric radiators;
- convectors;
- electropanes (type of convectors);
- infrared heaters;
- warm floor.
The effect of electric heating directly depends on the correct choice of heating devices. Sometimes it is better to mount an electric heater into an existing water heating system. In other cases, it is preferable to opt for warm floors or convectors.
For example, a combination of radiators and an infrared source is considered optimal for placing a kitchen. For the bathroom, only an infrared emitter that quickly radiates heat will be more economical.
For living rooms and nurseries, the best choice is underfloor heating, which ensures uniform heating of the entire air volume.
Installation of a heating circuit does not require permits. Installation is not complicated, and further management of the equipment will not cause difficulties. This is a safe heating method. The most expensive is the installation of a warm floor. The main disadvantage of electric heating is the high cost of electricity.
