The ventilation of any building needs to be cleaned, be it an apartment building, a shopping center or a warehouse. Modern facilities, as a rule, are equipped with forced ventilation systems - efficient and reliable. However, over time, the best installations become clogged, air ducts become covered with a layer of compressed dirt, and productivity drops. This means that the ventilation system needs urgent cleaning. Timely, properly carried out cleaning of the air ducts of the ventilation system will ensure long-term, high-quality work.
Cleaning instructions for the ventilation system

The work instruction defines the operating mode of the equipment and contains information:
- about the name of the institution, workshop, site;
- FULL NAME. masters in the adjustment and maintenance of ventilation equipment;
- about air exchange, productivity (for cold, heat, air);
- schedule for cleaning the ventilation ducts;
- the frequency of cleaning or replacing filters;
- the frequency of disinfection;
- on the frequency of control measurements of equipment efficiency.

Filters are inspected once a month; they are replaced as necessary. The sanitary condition of the ducts is checked once every 12 months.

The Law on Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare of the Population became the main instruction for cleaning and disinfecting ventilation. The universal instruction for cleaning ventilation defines measures to eliminate and prevent the spread of pathogens in ventilation systems.
The instruction is designed for tenants and owners of buildings and premises, sanitary officers and facility administrators.
The schedule for cleaning the ventilation ducts of ventilation systems is established taking into account the specifics of the enterprise, the amount and nature of impurities in the air.
In order to prevent disinfection, spend 1 time in 100 days or more often.
For disinfection, only drugs registered by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation with a certificate of conformity are purchased. When selecting a disinfecting drug, the characteristics of microorganisms and the quality of the preparations are taken into account. Workers who carry out disinfection and cleaning of the ventilation system are pre-trained and equipped with protective equipment:
- respirators
- safety glasses or masks;
- gloves;
- costumes.
Before starting work on cleaning and disinfecting ventilation systems, it is necessary to turn off the power and wait until all equipment stops, and also invite a ventilation engineer.
The amount of disinfectant depends on the processing area, it is prepared immediately before use in a designated room. The system is disinfected in a strictly defined order:
- air ducts;
- Filters
- air intake;
- air distributor.
All work performed is recorded in the log of the established sample for cleaning ventilation. The magazine refers to the mandatory documentation of production control.
Comprehensive ventilation cleaning
The most demanded cleaning of the ventilation system from fat.Therefore, with comprehensive maintenance, this procedure is mandatory. Together with body fat, the ventilation system is also freed from dust, germs and viruses. If damage or blockages are found, they are dismantled, the walls of the mines are restored.
Stages of cleaning ventilation from fat and dust deposits:
- Diagnosis of the degree of pollution and destruction.
- Selection of equipment, cleaning and disinfectants.
- Cleaning the ventilation system of fat deposits, contaminants of a different nature. Perhaps the use of chemicals.

The results of examinations and photographs are attached to the document. Data is recorded in a sample ventilation cleaning log. After analyzing the diagnostic results, the commission makes a decision on cleaning the ventilation ducts of the ventilation system, disinfection, and in some cases replacing spare parts and filters.
Cleaning ventilation in an apartment building or industrial building includes:
- cleaning ventilation chambers and shafts;
- purge valves;
- elimination of dust from the exhaust fan blades;
- dust removal from air ducts of various sections;
- cleaning or replacing filters.
The most difficult to work with ducts of large diameter or located at a considerable height. Special equipment is involved: brush and vacuum machines. But some places are cleaned only by hand with brushes of different sizes and degrees of rigidity. During the cleaning of large diameter ducts, the worker is located directly inside the ventilation system, therefore, without fail, puts on a protective suit.

An approved sample of a ventilation cleaning log does not exist. Recommended forms contain the following information:
- Information about the organization that ordered the cleaning of ventilation from grease and disinfection:
- Name of the enterprise and its address;
- Type of ventilation system;
- FULL NAME. person responsible for maintenance.
- Information about the organization conducting the cleaning and disinfection:
- Name and legal address;
- Number of the sanitary and epidemiological report, date of issue and validity.
- Ventilation survey results;
- Data on the work performed in the form of a table:
